COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Meditation Practice at Surprise Farm Retreat Center
April 24, May 8 & May 22 @  6pm (every 2nd, 4th Wed/month)

Meditation and Mindfulness

Meditation is the practice of focusing and redirecting our thoughts. Proven to reduce stress, control anxieties and promote emotional health, mindfulness may increase gratitude and kindness.

Meditating in nature additionally redirects your senses to experience your environment, rather than exploring your internal universe. This includes experiencing the wind touching your skin, the temperatures changing slightly with the turn of the sun, the sounds of birds singing or touching the leaves .

Experiencing nature reminds us that everything is connected and we are part of all natural cycles.  amid the impermanence of good and bad experiences.

Join us every second and fourth Wednesday evening for Meditation practice at all levels of experience, including beginners.

Facilitator Teresa Wells will guide us through practice and exploration including sound healing.  Understanding how your mind works can lead to more peace in our day-to-day life, and  strengthen the immune system.

Teresa is an ordained Buddhist monk and teacher of meditation at the Dharma Center in San Diego.  She specializes in how music, vibrational frequencies and sound impact the mind and body. She has studied the teachings of Buddha, Yogananda, Gangji, Mooji, Rama and the Theosophical Society.

Free. We welcome donations to be shared by the facilitator and SFRC.

“Mindfulness is the awareness that emerges through paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally, to the unfolding of experience moment by moment. It is a turning towards life…. .”
Jon Kabat Zinn
