SURPRISE FARM RETREAT CENTER
Sensory Garden Project
We are planning a Sensory Garden to help visitors connect to their bodies and to the natural world.
Sensory gardens are designed to stimulate the senses, both individually and in combination, in ways that visitors may not normally encounter. This helps them bring their attention to the present as they encounter new sensations; it is also a great opportunity for children to have fun and learn about nature.
Sensory gardens can improve the quality of life of people with dementia, as well as those with specific kinds of autism.
Help us build an community sensory garden! Note -- to donate to this project, please write "Sensory Garden Project" on your donation form.
